This course covers the principles and fundamentals of programming in the language named above, and takes you to a genuinely advanced level of programming in it. It does not cover what that language is then put to — building websites or Windows desktop software — but it is a compulsory first stage before either of them.

Trainer and web developer
Hamada works as a professional web developer across a number of platforms, PHP and MS ASP.NET among them, and is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer for web applications. He read computer science at university, and has spent years building web applications for the commercial market alongside teaching a long list of training courses in the field.

Chief executive, and database developer
Waleed started on computer science and programming at around eleven years old, on the old Q-Basic, and has worked with a long list of technologies across programming, databases and computer systems generally ever since. He is now chief executive of the software company Code-Times, Ltd, specialising in systems analysis, MS SQL Server database development, and building large applications on MS .NET for both the web and Windows. He currently runs the training departments at Seven Dash, where he also designs and delivers a number of specialist computer-science programmes on a principle of his own: training that is closer to the working reality of a real software company than to an academic syllabus written without regard for how the material is actually used.

- Why is this course's content not simply folded into the other courses on web or Windows development ?
- Most of the .net programming courses rest on exactly this material: you have to understand how programming works before you use any of the languages or libraries built on top of it — ASP.net for web applications, Windows Forms for Windows software, and the rest. Repeating it inside every later .net course would be duplication, particularly for anyone who wants to learn more than one of those products.
- Can I start with ASP.net for web applications, or Windows Forms for Windows software, without knowing what this course covers
- No. Every one of those products depends entirely on the programming language itself, and that language is what this course teaches in detail.
